Easy Natural Hair Styles - Part 6
Friday, 2 June 2017
Welcome to the last hair style from this easy natural hair styles series. There was actually another hair style (a side puff) but I forgot to film it, and only took photos. I hope you have enjoyed the series, and seen that if you're pressed for time, and aren't too good with your hands, you can still manage at least 6 easy hairstyles.
Thanks for following me along this series!

Easy Natural Hair Styles - Part 5
Friday, 26 May 2017
Hi there,
Today's the second to the last easy natural hair style I will be showing you. This is actually a natural hair high/mega bun - remember when I showed a tutorial a few weeks ago. I decided to try it out myself and I think it came out okay - could have been better though, but it's all good.
Again, remember the hair styles in this series can be done in a matter of 2 minutes or less!
Have a lovely weekend everyone. I know there's a holiday on Monday, which happens to be my birthday as well.
Also, don't forget to log on to African Naturalistas Instagram this Sunday, as I will be doing a takeover and showing you my wash day with our products!

We're just about halfway through this little series of my easy natural hair styles. You might be wondering why I didn't just post a video with everything at once... well, some people may not want to watch a long video; also I wanted to show you how QUICK these styles are - some of which can be done in a minute or two.

Wash and Go using New Eco Black Castor and Flaxseed Oil Gel!
Tuesday, 9 May 2017
Happy Tuesday Ladies! After hearing so much about the new Eco Black Castor and Flaxseed Oil Gel, I finally decided to give it a go!
The Gel comes in a new flip top tub, feels really smooth to the touch, not sticky and heavy like some traditional Gels. It has a rather pleasant and sweet smell and applies easily onto damp hair that has a Leave In Conditioner on it. I applied the Gel over my Cantu Curl Activator and let the hair air dry undisturbed for three hours.
Enjoy the video Ladies, and make today Count!
Easy Natural Hair Styles - Part 2
Friday, 5 May 2017
This is a continuation of my Easy Natural Hair Styles series. Please see Part 1 here.
This is easily one of my favorite styles, as it's easy and looks like I put in effort, when it really takes a short amount of time and just 2 bobby pins.

Friday, 28 April 2017
Last weekend I filmed a video showing some of my easy, go-to natural hairstyles, but for the benefit of African Naturalistas, I'll break it down into short snippets that I'll share over the next 6 weeks. My first hairstyle was a simple braid out, turned into a parted afro.
Check back next week for Style 2,which was easy to transition to from this style.
Have a nice weekend!

HIGH BUN - Natural Hair Style Tutorial
Friday, 21 April 2017
I like BIG BUNS and I cannot lie! Actually, that's not really true. I prefer the smaller, simple, classic buns, but for today's tutorial I decided to try the large, high buns that make you look like you're carrying a house on your head :p
Check out the video below for the tutorial. If you don't have much data, then check the pictorial from Nappily Nigerian Girl. And finally, my results at the end :)
If your hair is short and you want to try something similar, check out my faux bun tutorial here.

Braid Out on Natural Hair
Friday, 17 March 2017
We saw a video yesterday from Chizi Duru, and I'm about to share yet another video from her. Let me tell you why I like her videos. First of all, her hair texture looks like mine. It's very important that when you watch Youtube videos for hair tutorials, you're following people with similar hair texture to yours. Secondly, I like that her styles are not complicated at all. Don't you get a little sad and irritated when you watch videos with techniques that just fly by you? Thirdly, I like that her videos are short and straight to the point. Ain't nobody got time for loooooooooooooooooooooooong videos.
With that being said, check out her video on how to do a braid out on natural hair.
Similar products that you can use are our AN Leave-In Conditioner, our AN Gel, and any of our Oils. Check the African Naturalistas Store now and pick out your products!
Have a great weekend!

Holiday Updo Natural Hairstyle Tutorial
Friday, 9 December 2016
The holidays are upon us, and this means parties galore! End of year Office parties, Christmas parties, New Year parties, Wedding festivities and so much more! I came across West African Baby on Instagram and she recently shared a tutorial on this marvelous updo. It's for people with longer hair, but I'm sure you can recreate it with crochet braids.
I know my hair isn't as long as this, but maybe I should try it aye?
Have a great weekend!

Meet Kiitana - And Her Protective Styles
Friday, 18 November 2016
One of my favorite Youtubers and personalities on Instagram lately, is Kiitana. She's a young Nigerian lady, who also coincidentally lives in Atlanta. I can't remember how I came across her, but I really enjoy watching her crochet braids and protective style tutorials. For those of you in Nigeria, she just so happens to be in Nigeria and will be attending a natural hair event tomorrow, so check it out if you can!!!
Anyways, I'll share a couple of her videos with you and I hope you enjoy them.
Remember to always make sure your own hair is well taken care of, cleansed and moisturized with all your protective styles!

6 Times Yagazie Emezi Gave Us Hilarious Natural Hair Videos
Thursday, 20 October 2016
Hello, everyone!
The other time, I was scrolling through my YouTube app when I stumbled on Yagazie Emezi's latest video. While I was still mulling over the length of that video, I didn;t know when I fell into the rathole that is YouTube. Before I knew it, I was watching one video after the other. It didn;t help that the videos were so short, I had to satisfy my curiosity.
Yagazie is hilarious. I don't know what y'all are watching but you need to see these videos plus her natural hair is equally awesome.
1. That time she was sick and tired of people associating her hair to genetics.
2. Then she gave us an idea of what her typical wash day looks like. The best tbh!
3. Some product reviews were also in order
4. And an actual tutorial on her signature yarn braids
5. But people wouldn't stop touching her hair.
6. Eventually, she had to pick another hairstyle.
I had so much fun watching these videos. It was such a stress reliever and I hope you do too.
Love, coils and curls.

HOW TO WASH KIDS HIGH POROSITY NATURAL HAIR
Saturday, 15 October 2016
Knowing your hair porosity can help you know how to moisturize your natural hair and know why it is always dry. This can help with natural hair length retention. Here is How to test for your porosity: http://bit.ly/1Uc26IE
My youngest daughter has high porosity, it has always been a struggle keeping her hair moisturized and wash day was a struggle. In the past, her natural hair kids wash day routine was like this http://bit.ly/2dlfbBI
Here is her new routine and what we use:
