My First Time Using Curlformers

Have you ever tried Curlformers? You know, those plastic mesh spiral contraptions that can give you a head full of bouncy curls?

Well I had some from a friend and decided to try them out... EPIC FAIL!

Instead of getting these results,

I got this!

It's very clear that most of the curls didn't hold. I think my mistakes were using the curlformers on hair that wasn't wet enough, and not using gel - I used some curl cream I found and thought it could do well as a holding/styling product.

I'll definitely try doing it again, next time with mousse or gel or holding spray, and will be sure to share my results. If you have any tips that could help me, let me know in the comments below.

Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Yikes! Some you win, some you lose. Try doing them in smaller sections and yes, i will definitely recommend a setting lotion or mousse on your next attempt. Cheers to failures that lead to better successes in future!

    1. Gel is typically what I'm hesitant to use cos I feel like I have to wash the hair afterwards

  3. Sorry about that, Berry. I agree with Bee and the smaller sections. Also, try to make sure they are completely dry before you remove them. Good luck.

    1. Will definitely try the smaller sections next time. My hair was dry cos I left it in for like 18 hours

  4. Yeah, curlformers can be very tricky to use. The first an only time I used it, it didn't really come out well. I thought of the stress, and I just decided to sell the whole pack of. I'm not even a fan of any style that doesn't last long
