Red Carpet Hairstyle for my Natural Hair

I am sure many of you guys know by now that I hardly allow people touch my hair, in the name of styling. I don't like Nigerian salons for anything. If you didn't know, then check out this post. So when I was invited to a dinner, one of the main things on my mind was my hair. I had never walked the carpet with my natural hair, the highest I had done was TV interviews. Doing anything apart from carrying my natural hair was not even an option. I mean the main reason I was even recognised for this even was because I am a natural hair blogger, lol. I hardly style my hair, but when I want to, then I go all out. Since I knew I couldn't pull off a Teyonnah Paris, thanks to my uncontrollable and full side edges and madly frizzy hair, I started to think of what to do.

So, what did I do? I called Omozo of O'naturals. She was the only one I could think of to style my natural hair without me shouting every 5 minutes, or considering the fact that the stylist is mishandling my hair. I have modelled for her natural hair salon when my hair was not as long as this, so I don't doubt her abilities. I will put some of the modelling pics up here in future. (The salon will be opening in few weeks, so don't bother asking for details. I will announce it on this blog once it opens, lol).

I visited Omozo on the day of the event, and I was happy for two things. She removed all the tangles and shed hair I had not been expert enough to take care of, and I realised my hair had not plateaued as I thought, and it was now a proper BSL. She ended up doing a very simple double cinnabun on my hair.

Anyway, to cut the long story short. This was what I ended up looking like. Sorry the pictures are not the highest quality

Front view of face

Side view of face. Honestly I didn't know when my cousin took this.
Full front view. This more about the dress than the hair, lol
Full side view.
So what do you guys think?

    1. Actually, the carpet is gold. It was a very high profile Egyptian themed dinner. The whole setting was gold and black.

No she did not do a blow out. My hair was already stretched when I got to her.

    2. How did you stretch your hair, pray tell...

    3. Actually Berry, my hair is stretched 98% of the time. a day before I did the style, I took my twists out, DCd and washed my hair, and braided in about 6 sections. I went to church the next morning, and from church went to make my hair.

So I guess straight from wash, my hair returns to a stretched state immediately.
