I'm sure my Natural sisters and brothers who have their hair locked up will be very excited to read this. It's all about L.A.D 2014, i.e. Locs Appreciation Day. It will be holding in Nigeria, for the first time ever, come 28th June 2014. It is simply a day set aside to appreciate locs. L.A.D is celebrated every 4th Saturday in June. It serves as an opportunity for Loc Heads to share in on their hair journeys, maintenance tips, find the right products for locs and most of all, celebrate their crowns.

What to expect from L.A.D Lagos.

- A short video - "What are Locs?"
- Panel discussion featuring Locitude, Celebrity loctician/hair dresser Jatto, and a loc sister with waist long locs.
- Vendors with loc products you would never have been able to find in Lagos.
- Maintenance tips
- Styling tips
- DIY tutorials
- Product tips
- Giveaways
- more, more and more.

I am happy to announce that African Naturalistas is one of the partners and vendors at the L.A.D 2014. Berry and @ilola will be there live, to have fun at the event. So head over there, if not for anything, to hang out with us, and get your own African Naturalistas Hair products.

L.A.D 2014, Lagos edition is an initiative of Ade of Locitude, a very hardworking and persevering friend of mine, I must say. Knowing her, I believe this event would be fun. One more thing, this is a natural hair event where we would actually get to see men in attendance. *covers face in shame*

The event details are below.

Date: Saturday, 28th June 2014
Time: 4.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. (GMT).
Venue: A White Space. 58, Raymond Njoku street, Ikoyi, Lagos.

You can check out, and like their facebook page here.

So what are you all waiting for? Make sure you all attend, and invite your male and female friends with Locs to attend.

  3. Good day. I av a few questions and I'll be glad to get answers. Please, is it possible 4 me to lock my collar bone hair length or do I just cut it and start afresh? Secondly, is it possible for me to lock my hair myself? If I do need to go to professional to lock it for me, where can I find one? AN, your shampoo is d best I'v ever used. I really do love it. rachealmerci@yahoo.com
