Introducing the African Naturalistas Team


So, if you have been really observant lately, you must have noticed some changes on this site, most of which is the fact that the blog is now more diverse. We now have posts ranging from random hair rants to hair tutorial posts. This goes to prove that when different thinking minds come together, we learn from one another, and appreciate our differences.

1. @ilola - Founder/Contributor

@ilola is a Writer, Editor, Blogger, and Spoken Word Artist. She is currently one of the leading female faces in the Spoken Word sector in Nigeria. She is also the author of the collection, Antonyms of a Mirage, and greatly in love with natural hair, and everything that has to do with it. She blogs as African Naturalista on this site. 2. Berry Dakara - Contributor

Berry Dakara is a Jane-of-all-trades. From her day job as a Data Performance Analyst, an at-large job in Social Media Marketing to sprinkles of acting, she began blogging in 2011 (Aje-Butter's Guide to NYSC and Berry Dakara). She went natural in late 2006 and hasn't looked back since. She currently lives in Nigeria, after 14 years of living in the US and considers herself a citizen of the world. 





3. Irene Loderick - Style Expert

Irene Odipo Loderick is a 36 year old Kenyan naturalista who went natural four years ago, and has no intention of looking back! She currently resides in London with her husband and three year old bundle of hyper energy, her son JJ. She worked as an Air Hostess before settling down to take care of her son full time. She enjoy natural Hair Care and Styling, and started her YouTube Channel in 2012. She is sure an entertaining host, as natural hair styling is her passion, Her passion is to see the natural hair movement continue to grow in Africa. 4. Tomilola Akibo - Contributor

Tomi embraced the challenge of getting healthy hair, without questions, and its been amazing and amazing journey for her. She resides in Nigeria, and loves art in all the forms it comes - writing, photography, music, painting. She documents her life's journey at www.tomilolaakibo.blogspot.com . 5. Janyl Benyl - Contributor

Janyl Benyl is a Creative writer, health consultant, and professional dance coach. She is a Nigerian currently swinging between Austria and the UK. 6. Dolapo - Contributor

Dolapo who resides in Lagos, has always been thirsty for healthy hair, and in her quest for that she stumbled on the Natural hair way of life. She shares her personal hair experiences and other natural hair bits and bobs on her blog, tzipporah’sKinks.
