This is why: You can't touch my hair!

Happy Tuesday Lovelies! Natural Hair is continuing to become more and more of a phenomenon, the bigger the movement gets. But that brings us to the question: As much as a source of awe as our Natural Hair seems to be to those who are not so familiar with it, does this mean we should always go out of our way to satisfy others curiosity about our Hair? In this video, we talk about this topic in more depth. Please feel free to drop us a line and let us know how you feel! Bless up All!

  1. It depends on where you are looking at it from. I don't think it is nice to touch a stranger's hair, no matter how curious you are. However, some people have asked me for permission to touch my hair, and you can see the longing curiosity in their eyes. To be honest, I hardly wear my hair out, in all its glory, cos it would draw so much attention than I could handle. On time, I went to a local market to buy herbs, and when the older women realised my hair wasn't kinky braids, but my real hair twisted up, there were pulling it left, right, and centre, as it was really elastic. I think that's the most intrusive experience I ever had.

As to the campaign, I don't see much wrong with it. It wasn't just natural hair on display. There was also weaves and dreads. I believe it was an experiment. Obviously, the natural hair had the most touches, because it inspired the most curiosity. Anyway, just my opinion.

    1. Thank you for watching and commenting Sis!I can jist imagine the look on your face when your hair was being prodded!lol! In regards to the campaign,to me the whole concept seemed abit off.Its like we are almost too accomodating in regards to satisfying others curiosity which while most times might be genuine, unfortunately sometimes is tinged with a little malice. If permission is asked in regards to touching hair,I appreciate that because it shows a certain level of respect being awarded to you, rather than being prodded in an unwelcome manner. But however,I did not really see the point of parading people and to some extent putting them on display as 'persons of interest' it just was a little disturbing to me.However,I do appreciate and see your point.Bless up Sis!

  2. Generally, i don't even like people touching my hair. But i can allow a stranger touch my hair if there is a good or reasonable reason to do so.
