Well, I decided to do a quick search on the concept of Water Washing and why anyone would or should do it. There's actually a website fully dedicated to it - Water Only Hair Washing. Yes, WOHW is an acronym, one that I had never seen before (Can there be a hair care dictionary already?)

There is allowance for clarifying the hair every other month (or even longer), but it's suggested that you use only natural shampoos.
The main thing that gives me interest in this method of natural hair care is that you don't need any products at all! So it's definitely pocket-friendly. You still of course need to detangle your hair often (weekly I think).
The lady who started this method says she has been doing it for over a year and is very happy with her results.

Never heard of this method sounds very interesting.

It does, doesn't it?
DeleteHmmm... *pensive thinking*
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.... No, oil after? Just water spraying? Someone's hair that is always dry nko?
ReplyDeleteShebi! I can't wash and not deep condition.. My hair will be a tangled rock..lol
DeleteThat's why you're doing the water washing almost every day
DeleteReally strange method. I probably will try this to know the outcome x
ReplyDeleteGood luck when you do!
DeleteHmmm... I have heard of it before and tried for just two days before it flopped. Its a no no for my low po hair
ReplyDeleteLol at least you tried
DeleteI actually came across this last year. I am actually certain I will not try this. Sounds kind of stressful and am slowing becoming a lazy natural.
ReplyDeleteI will also love to hear from those who have tried it or are willing to try it.
I might try it for a month
DeleteAnd you give good reviews.
DeleteI can't wait to hear about your experience.
No I wouldn't. My sebaceous glands are too overactive for this type of fad.
ReplyDeleteHehe
DeleteI've come across this. I even tried it once but it was too stressful because you have to massage and scritch, yes scritch your hair daily to effectively distribute sebum down the hair strands.
ReplyDeleteOh how long did you manage to do it for?
DeleteWow @kinkchic a fellow low-po.. since you have tried it , i wont even bother..
ReplyDeleteYeah not everything is for everyone
Deletevery true
DeleteDid this once. It actually helped melt all my tangles (I didn't detangle before starting). Asides that, I don't feel too comfortable washing with just water. Because of all the oils I use daily to seal, my hair gets dusty quick and water alone isn't enough for me to get the dirt out.
ReplyDeletemy concerns exactly!
DeleteMy wash day is every Saturday, without fail because of that dust issue. So really, its not for me.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting but I use far too many products to limit myself to water washing only. Kudos to those who have made it work for them.
ReplyDeleteSounds a lot like MHM without the products. Personally, I don't think water alone is sufficient as the only ingredient for maintaining moisture in my highly porous hair. Also to water wash, I would need products that can easily be rinsed off with water and since most contain oils, water isn't enough to cleanse my hair.
