Hello everyone!
Taiye Selasi is an award-winning African writer whose been previously featured on one of our posts on African writers. She recently partnered with Dove Hair on its Love Your Curls campaign to create a digital book to promote the beauty and increase the awareness of natural hair.
It's actually a compilation of personal stories, photos and journeys of thousands of women who have contributed to this campaign by submitting them. Selasi's job was to convert these stories into a book of poems.
According to her, if 54% of women aren't still comfortable with their curls, then we still have a lot of work to do and I totally agree.
Hopefully, this book would inspire more people to embrace their kinky hair in all its glory.
