Set your blender to high and let it blend,blend and blend some more.

Pour your content into a bowl and sieve

After sieving away the shaft, all you have is some milky substance, pour it in a bowl and cover overnight.

By morning, your creamy liquid would have some particles floating on top of it, use a spoon to collect these particles and then transfer the particles into the old frypan.

Set your frypan on a stove, set the heat to medium and stir fry till you begin to see oil.

Pour the oil into a container and close the lid tightly.

NOTE
The oil could look watery but never mind, that is what coconut oil looks like.
After squeezing out the cream, you can pour the shaft back into the blender, add some water and blend a second time.
Putting the milk inside the freezer for about 30 minutes, makes it easy to collect the particles.

ReplyDeleteI've made coconut oil via this method, it was just annoying that the oil I got wasn't so much. It was then I understood why coconut oil is expensive.
ReplyDeleteYes o. You basically have to crush loads and loads of coconut (about 50) and use loads and load of gas to get a 250ml bottle. Who has time for that? It is not financially sound at all, but at least the knowledge is worth gaining.
