'I ignore bad comments about my hair' Mane Matters with Deborah

Hello Naturalistas,
How are you all doing this week?

Meet Deborah

Can you tell us who you are and what you do?
My name is Ijila Itunu Deborah. I'm am entrepreneur, I'm into photography and Ankara Accessory craft
What are your thoughts about natural hair?
I love natural hair. I look forward to a day when black girls wouldn't have to buy hair relaxers to look good and learn to love and rock our kinky hair
When/why did you decide to go natural?
I went natural August 2014. I wasn't really a going-to-the.-saloon freak 'cause I loved rocking my hair. Relaxers seem like the easy way out back then. So I, being the church girl that I was (Did I mention my church doesn't allow relaxers?) went on to relax my hair...Until I jam a natural hair website while surfing the net. Somehow I knew I was done with relaxers. Goodbye #TRelaxed Hair; Hello, #Team Natural
Did you do a BC or you transitioned?
I transitioned. Boy, I can't imagine myself with a low cut cos I've got a baby face and voice
What was the experience like?
It was fun. I've fallen in love with my natural hair. I play with her, style, wash and stuff.. We never had that kind of relationship before now
What was/is your biggest fear about going Natural?
Was I really afraid? No.
Do you have a regimen you stick to? What is it like?
The only regimen I stick is a weekend wash and DC. I also keep my  hair moisturized throughout the day. Many thanks to my spritz bottle
What emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?
Sometimes I look at the lady with relaxed long hair and I get jealous, like..this could be me. But then, I just remind myself about how awesome I was rocking my kinky hair..and that solves it
Do you think you are in it for the long haul or is it just a phase?
The long haul..and I'm loving it
There are people that definitely have negative comments about you hair, how do you deal with that?
Ignore.. That's what I do. I'm not about to allow someone ruin my day with a bad hair comment
What's your must have product and accessory?
ERM.. Olive oil, hair moisturiser. For accessories, a silver flower hair clip and yeah..bobby pins
What is your go-to style?
My hair in a Bun
What advice do you have for anyone just going natural?
Consistency is key. It might not be easy at first, but in the long run, consistency pays
