5 POWER FOODS FOR INCREASED HAIR GROWTH

5 POWER FOODS FOR INCREASED HAIR GROWTH

What is a slay queen with lackluster, limp, dry, and possibly patchy hair? You can only hide it for so long with a wig, right? You want to be able to flick your own luscious hair to the left or right or flaunt your afro puff or twist outs but you definitely cannot do that with stringy, dull, and lifeless looking hair.

We know that how fast your hair grows is dependent on factors such as genetics, age, health, and diet. Of these four factors, you have the most control over your diet.

Healthy and vibrant looking hair has a lot to do with your diet or the lack of it. A nutritional deficiency with a lack of nutrients will have a direct influence on hair and the body in general, with hair loss/thinning and lackluster hair as the most visible effects. Proper nutrition is very important to the body and specifically to the hair. Hair is mostly a protein called keratin,

Let's talk about Seborrhea and Seborrheic Dermatitis

Yeah we know your scalp is itching you. In fact, you have hit your head over and over again, till people assumed you were mad. To make it worse, you didn't even have extensions on... or maybe you did. It isn't surprising that you have diagnosed you issue to be dandruff, but you have used all the anti- dandruff shampoos you can use without getting any relief.

It is very common for women to conclude that they are dealing with dandruff issues when their scalp is flaking and itching. Not every case of flaky or itchy scalp is dandruff. Seborrhea and Seborrheic Dermatitis is one of the options.

This October, we will be dissecting Seborrhea and Seborrheic Dermatitis. There will also be a Q and A session when you can ask questions pertaining to the topic.

The date of this Webinar is 6th of October 2018, by 6pm (GMT+1).

To join this webinar, you will need to register using the link below. The good news is that even if you are not around by 6pm (GMT+1) this Saturday, the webinar will be available for one week after we go live. You can always watch it later as long you register

See you on Saturday

If you live in Nigeria, we wish you a Happy Independence Day.

How To Get That Salon-Style Scalp Massage At Home

Hey ladies,  happy Friday.

Don't you just love when you go to the salon and they wash your hair, and you get that lovely relaxing massage that just makes u want to float? I certainly do.

Now scalp massages are great for blood circulation, growth and scalp health. The bonus relaxation is the cherry on top. You don't have to part with your money to give yourself that relaxing massage that is oh-so-heavenly.

These few tips will take your odinary scalp massage to another level.

1. Schedule 20 minutes to give yourself this treat. Remember the aim here is to maximise growth and pamper yourself at the same time.

2. Heat your oil till it is  warm. Add one or two drops of an essential oil such as peppermint, lavender or ylang ylang.  These are specifically known to be calming and relaxing. They also increase blood circulation.

3. Using the pads of your fingers;  move in circular motion , applying light pressure. Work slowly but evenly around the circumference of your head. Start at the nape, then move forward to the hairline, and lastly do the centre.
It is every important to avoid using your nails. They can scratch and bruise your scalp.

4. Pay particular attention to the back of your head where the neck meets the back of your skull. This area has a lot of tension. Relieve it by applying light pressure whilst moving in circular motion and gently pulling on the skin.

By the time your 20 minutes are up you will feel rejuvenated and have boosted circulation to encourage growth. I believe the secret to such an enjoyable and effective massage is the warmed scented oil and time taken to do it.  We tend to rush over our scalp massages which although yield results, don't work as effectively as when we had taken our time to really encourage circulation.

Happy growing and massaging
