DIY LOUNGE - HOMEMADE CARROT OIL

Carrots aren't limited to fried rice and small chops anymore! That's under using it, asides being a good moisturiser, it's also strengthens and protect the hair... In today's post am going to be sharing how to make yours in the comfort of your home, spending as little as #100..

               BENEFITS::
- promotes hair growth
- prevents hair loss
- prevents split ends
- conditions
- moisturises

                 INGREDIENTS
- 5 fingers of carrots
- any oil of your choice( I used castor oil and olive oil)
- honey
- ginger (optional)
- aloe Vera (optional)

                TOOLS ::::
- grater
- peeler
- pot
- jar
- sieve

            DIRECTIONS ::::

STEP 1
            Wash and grate your carrots directly into the pot ( we can't afford to waste )

STEP 2
            Pour in enough olive oil, making sure the oil covers the grated carrots.

STEP 3
            Add your ginger, aloe Vera ( they enhance the smell) and 5 caps full of castor oil
STEP 4
            Set your pot on the stove and let it cook on the lowest heat possible.
STEP 5
             Cook till, the oil begins to turn orange ( doesn't have to ) and the grated carrots tender
STEP 6
             Turn off the burner and let the oil cool!
STEP 7
             Put the pot in the fridge for few days or just cover the pot overnight.This is to let the oil take in as much "nutrients " as it can.
STEP 8
            Warm your oil the second time,this is to relax the oil

STEP 9
            Let it cool and then sieve into a container.

NB :::
           You could squeeze the tender shredded carrots, to get out any oil that might be left.
            Please do refrigerate

  3. Two questions please:
    1. You mentioned honey on your ingredients but not in the directions. Am I missing something?
    2. What do you mean by 'to relax the oil'
    Great recipe. I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you.

      "to relax it", I only meant, to cool the oil and to let it infuse the carrot nutrients.
