Natural hair is prone to dryness and this dryness can make the hair hard to manage. Doing a deep conditioning process on each wash day gives you a lot of benefits.
Deep conditioning helps to soften the hair and restore needed moisture after the hair has been cleansed. Due to the amount of emollients in the deep conditioner, the quality of the hair is improved greatly.
It provides the hair with shine and improved the health of your natural hair. I prefer to do deep conditioning on freshly washed hair because the ingredients of the treatment is able to better penetrate into the hair cuticle.
The elasticity of the hair improves overtime when deep conditioning is done regularly. Deep conditioning repairs damaged hair and restores it back to its healthy state. If you constantly use heat in your child's hair, you will benefit from doing a deep conditioning session.

Do you deep condition your child's or your natural hair? What do you use and how often do you do it?
I only deep condition if I shampoo and that is twice a month. I co wash 2 or 3 times a month, so I don't feel i need to DC as often. sweetestgal01@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI've nt started DC but will soon begin ogechigodwin@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteYou will see the benefit when you start. Make sure that you use a moisturizing deep conditioner not one with too much protein. Unless you are doing a protein treatment.
DeleteI guess this should also work for adults. I deep condition on every wash day too but I don't get the desired result. Maybe its the product I use. tkuje86@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteYes, this works for adults. You can try doing some things differently. If you DC without heat, try doing it with some direct heat like a steamer or hooded dryer.

My child is two, how often should I dc and how long should I leave it in her hair?
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter was 2, I did not deep condition her hair. I just made sure I kept her hair moisturized and did not use harsh products.
DeleteWhat Should i use to Deep condition for my 3yr old?
ReplyDeletei too think that Kids do not need too much done to their hair. as an adult i barely even do so much and my hair is still healthy. keeping hair moisturized and oiled is as much as a little child needs...my opinion anyways. i see women doing dc on 1-3 year old with egg and onions and ginger and all what not and i do not agree with it...however, ist their child not mine.. all the same, i do enjoy doing a dc. i only do it once a month anyways...on wash days...yup im lazy like that. God knew and gave me lazy gal hair
ReplyDeleteI live in the high desert of California, African American hair dries out so badly here. I just started a warm olive oil n honey on my almost 2 yrs old day before yesterday,i added banana today and did it again, her hair is super soft and was easier to do than ever I. The past few months. I will donut twice a month from now on.
