Hello Naturalistas!!
How was your holiday? I hope you had a lovely one and got the time to pamper your hair like it needed? Today, we would look at signs that your natural hair needs a trim.
Here are signs that your hair needs a trim
- Knots
- Breakage
- Split ends
- Tangles
While some of these can be fixed with better hair care, when you start have them too often, it's probably time to get a trim so your hair can thrive. It is advised to get a trim at least 3-4 times in a year and less for those that let their hair breathe (No hands-in hair syndrome) and are manipulating their hair alot less.
Look at it like pruning. After a tree is pruned, it thrives. Trimming the hair regularly will even help avoid further damage to your hair.
How do you know when YOU need a trim?
Split ends are my major clue that I need a trim.

DeleteLol no I am not. I just don't know how to trim right
DeleteThat's my plan @fransica 'cus honestly those single strand knots irk me when I sight them. I can just vex and chop my hair anyhow. Going to a natural hair salon for some TLC. Hehehehehe
DeleteI trimmed my hair in November last year....but I have mainly been dusting my ends since then.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this dusting I keep hearing about?
DeleteDusting means trimming off very little ends of your hair in such a way that it looks like dust on the floor. It is done more often than trimming and requires a really good shear.
DeleteYea..you are right ekanem. I use my hair shears to cut off any knots or split ends I see on my hair anytime, anyday.
DeleteMbanu that would make me scissors friendly oo. The only time scissors touched my hair was my chop ; ending up transition.
DeleteThanks for the explanation @idy
DeleteHmmmmm hand in hair syndrome, I have it. I like to feel my scalp and majorly my hair so if the bank permits me everyweek trip to the salon noni but it didn't. So I barely make my hair, lol. I need to be touching my hair plix
