Hi Naturalistas.
How are you all doing? Hope the weather isn't too cold and windy?. Remember, your hair needs all the extra care and love during this harmattan period. To be on a safer side, stick to protective styling.
I'm so excited about today's feature. She is a nigerian beauty and natural hair vlogger and I follow her on instagram. I love her hair and I'm sure you would too.
So ladies, meet today's Naturalista, Temitope.
Enjoy!
Can you tell us who you are and what you do?
Hi, my name is Temitope, I am Nigerian and have been natural for 3 years.
I am a natural hair vlogger that loves giving tips and tricks on how to grow
your hair.
What are your thoughts about natural hair?
I love everything about natural hair. The versatility is amazing.
When/why did you decide to go natural?
I went natural in 2012 right before my mom passed.
With taking her to chemo everyday it became stressful and hair was the last
thing on my mind, so I cut it off.
Did you do a BC or you transitioned?
I bigchopped
What was the experience like?
For me, I felt relieved because I was able to give more attention to what
really mattered at that point in my life.
What was/is your biggest fear about going Natural?
Well, one fear that I did have is that my hair will get to a certain length and
stop growing because that's how my hair was when relaxed.
Do you have a regimen you stick to? What is it like?
Yes, I co-wash and
deep condition my hair every week. Every 1-2 months I do a protein treatment. I
am a big finger detangler when washing my hair and I like to part my hair using
my hands.
What emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?
Haven't really had any in my natural hair journey.
Do you think you are in it for the long haul or is
it just a phase?
This is definitely for life.
There are people that definitely have negative
comments about your hair, how do you deal with that?
I simply ignore them. No
one can make me believe anything negative about my hair. I've read some mean
comments but its not worth my time so I don't respond.
What's your must have product and accessory?
Jsheaoil is my must have, I use it as a leave in conditioner and honey moisturizes my hair the best. My must have accessory is a printed scarf for
those days I'm extra lazy but still want to look like I tried.
What is your go-to style?
My go to style is a braid out.
What advice do you have for anyone just going natural?
It takes time. Stop worrying about length and take the time to learn your
hair. When you stop focusing on length and focus more on health before you know
it, you will realize your hair has grown.
Where can we find you? Your social media platforms…
My youtube and instagram is both under the
name naturallytemi.
Thank you for your time
