Yesterday at work, I had a conversation about my hair. I mentioned to my coworkers that I've thought about cutting my hair a few times. They exclaimed (like my husband always does): WHY WOULD YOU CUT YOUR HAIR? According to them my hair's pretty long and they don't understand why I would want to start all over again. Well, the thought of starting over does scare me a little bit, but I've been seeing a lot of tapered cuts on natural hair and the idea's beginning to grow on me.
Guess what? You can actually fake a tapered cut, as I just found out on Sandra's blog -
Naija Girl Next Door.
What do you think? I might just try the faux tapered cut before the year runs out :D

wait you can fake it ...... happy days are here again
ReplyDeleteYUP! You can pin your hair up in certain areas, curl it tightly or depending on your shrinkage dash water for your hair and pat it down.
DeleteFaux is fab..and less emotionally painful than cutting for the style. Don't you just love shrinkage?
ReplyDeleteSandra's hair is the bizness mehhnnn. I wonder if I can achieve the faux look without doing the crochet braids.
ReplyDeletenow that would be impressive, but I'm sure there would be a lot of gel type action and booby pins
DeleteOr probably just work with your hair's shrinkage. Stretch the top, pat down the sides. Our humidity can help a lot with this style even.
DeleteThanks :D :D :*
DeleteYes you can totally fake it like Oreoluwa said. I saw youtube tutorials like that. No hair pins, no gel unless you use gel to set your curls.
One used tiny perm rods behind and big ones in front. Another sprayed water and tied down the back and sides with a scarf, then stretched the front in twists overnight. I plan to try it
* I mean as Nkoli said
DeleteSandra pls post picks
DeleteI didn't even know there were tutorials for them. Thanks Sandra, time to go search for them
