What To Expect In Your Natural Hair TWA Stage

Hi ladies!
  This week I'm going to be filling y'all in on some things you should have in mind on your TWA stage so you have at least an idea of what to expect and how to handle it.

1. The Shrinkage is real! You might leave home in the morning with a well defined twist-out for instance, Don't be surprised when by evening, it's become  a shrunken 'fro. It comes with the territory and I think the earlier you embrace it the better.  

2.Your hair is prone to constant dryness! You're gonna have to Moisturize every time. It's quite short so it's a tad difficult to retain moisture for a long period.Whatever method it is you're using whether it's the LOC, LCO or LOCO, just moisturise!

3. The need for gel or curl puddings here is paramount. I personally don't think it's convenient for anyone to twist or braid every night. Gels give hold for a longer time.

4. If length is one of your goals, you might want to ditch the comb. Finger detangling works wayyy better besides kinky hair isn't designed to be straight. As usual, you might end up having a shrunken style, so what's the point?

5. If you're like me and love stretched hair, braid-outs and bantu knot-outs should be your go-to styles. At least, you're guaranteed volume and definition. I realised that twist-outs work better on longer hair. Nonetheless, they also make an amazing protective style
.
6. I think it is also important to alternate between protective styles. Once in a while, install some box braids and just let your hair be. Remember low manipulation goes a long way.

As usual, hair grows at a gradual rate so please set realistic goals and work towards them.
