Hairstyle Lounge on African Naturalistas - Home Service saves the day

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope we are having a great holiday season.

It's been a very long while since we wrote something on Hairstyle Lounge, almost a year ago if I have my dates right. This is because almost all year, I hardly went to the salon due to the fact that many things in my life didn't play out as planned. I can count on both hands how many times I made my hair, and to be honest how many times I washed or cared for my hair. Thankfully, that phase is over and a new phase has started.

I was out of the country for quite sometime, and when I got back, I needed to take down the weaving our very own Discovering Natural made on my hair six weeks prior and get my hair pampered and treated my O'Naturals. Honestly, it was well deserved as the hair was overdue for some loving up.

I got back exactly a month ago, Sunday, and was supposed to be at the salon the Wednesday after that. I woke up on Wednesday morning, and for some reason, my body refused to cooperate. I was a nursing mother with a swollen face and aching jawline (I had visited the dentist two days prior to carry out an extraction), and I was dead tired. I was extremely jetlagged, but I still needed to look good because my baby dedication was in four days time.

I called Omozo of O'Naturals, explained the whole situation to her, and apologised because I was going to miss my appointment. She was very understanding, and we decided to convert the whole process to Home service for the next day, so I could rest that day. Before this, I had never had someone come from a salon to care for my hair so I looked forward to the whole process. I had heard about O'Naturals Home service, but never had any reason to utilize it. Lemme just say they saved my life last week.

At the appointed time, the stylist called me, saying whe was at the estate gate. About 30 minutes later, she had her hands in my head, detangling, massaging my scalp, and getting rid of weeks of build up. Of course, we had to do a thorough detangling especially considering how long I carried the previous hairstyle. We used African Naturalistas Moisturising and Detangling conditioner, which was supplied by O'Naturals, just like all the other products they used on my hair.

We went on to wash with a medicated shampoo, to make sure my scalp was in good condition, and followed it up with a regular shampoo. We dried the hair, and proceeded to steam with African Naturalistas Deep Conditioning Mayonnaise. Now, since it was home service, there was obviously no steaming machine. We used a steam cap instead, and the steaming process lasted for twenty minutes.

We washed again, and dried the hair a bit with microfibre towel, then proceeded to make the hair, a style I selected a day earlier. We were done in about an hour, meaning the hair pampering phase was longer than the hair styling phase.

This was the result of the whole thing
