Meet Josephine

Can you tell us who you are and what you do?

My name is Amarachi Josephine. I am 22 years. I am God-fearing. I am a student of Yaba College of Technology. I love Fine Art, Creativity, Make-up, and Nature. I also love to draw and paint, making research and surfing the internet.

What are your thoughts about natural hair?

I love Natural Hair because it makes me Stand out and it has built a lot of confidence in me.

When/why did you decide to go natural?

I cut all my hair because I was tired of making hair although I had a long hair but I just had to let it go not because I wanted to go natural. I have always loved relaxed low cuts hair. Along the line, I learnt a lot about natural hair then desired to try it. And it has been great although I still experience dryness.

What was the experience like?

I always receive lots of compliments from friends and students in my college. They walk up to me to get tips on how to go about the natural thing.

What was/is your biggest fear about going Natural?
 Not been able to get a softer hair and easy way to detangling hair

Do you have a regimen you stick to? What is it like?

I don't really have a regimen. I just do the hot oil treatments with my castor oil, shea butter and olive oil. Then I deep condition.

What emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?

I always exprience dryness and tangling

Do you think you are in it for the long haul or is it just a phase?

I want to natural forever

There are people that definitely have negative comments about your hair, how do

you deal with that?

I don't always get negative reports expect for my stylist who always complain of my fullness of hair.

What's your must have product and accessory?

I use shea butter, castor oil, olive oil, profectiv mega- growth oil, organic deep conditioning and leave-in.

What is your go-to style?

I love puff and Afro styles
