................................
1. I don't moisturise every single day. This is because I have very frizzy hair with a lot of flyaways. In fact, the whole of my hair flies away, lol. I moisturise and seal like twice a week.
2. I once used a moisturising cream with silicone. Someone got it for me, and wasn’t so familiar with ingredients. The fragrance was too good, I couldn’t resist.
3. I'm the laziest naturalista when it comes to styling. Twists are the only thing I can do to my hair, which is where the laziness comes from, cos you literally have to drag me to the salon to get anything else done
4. I have suffered enough hair damage and hair setbacks to last me a lifetime. I have lost hair because I threaded my hair with sewing thread to the tip, ripped my hair off with comb out of frustration, ripped massive knots out at a go, used aloe vera to damage my hair, and many more than I care to count. How my hair still forgives me is so amazing. It's a wonder its still growing.
5. I sometimes use rusty bobby pins, because it’s not completely rusted. Tacky, I know. I need deliverance. After all, that is why this is a confession
6. The only reason why I don’t mind sitting four to five hours twisting my hair myself every two weeks is because I get to watch two long movies at a stretch without feeling guilty about being too lazy.
7. I am really ashamed to say this, but before cutting my hair in April, I had trimmed my hair only once since I started wearing natural hair out in 2010. And it was a very questionable trim, more like just rubbing scissors all over your hair
8. I have never done a hot oil or protein treatment.
9. I am not a fan of doing tags. Berry forced me (and in fact, the whole group) to do this. She is such a bully. Please save us from her.
10. I hate rules, routines, and threats. So I won't be confessing up to 10 things. Nine is enough, or maybe eight, if you consider the fact that number 9 was not a curl confession. I also won't be tagging anyone. Tag yourself, if you are interested. That sounds fair enough
I hope you enjoyed my version.

DeleteThanks for your confession, lol.
hmm i dont know if it's a confession but im scared of combing my hair... i fear it will break so i just comb the strands leaving out the roots only to have huge chunks of hair pull out as the hairdresser combs it.
ReplyDelete2. i forget to oil my scalp a lot, so it gets really dry. i oil the strands though ...
3. i don't know how to trim and i don't even know if it's needed, i read about it but it doesn't make much sense.....
4. i think losing hair ... #boohoo #sobs
phew there, i think im a really terrible naturalista
Scared of combing your hair is not a big deal na. In fact, the confession would have been if you comb your hair all the time, and worse if you comb it dry.
DeleteYou don't have to oil your scalp, actually, cos the scalp produces its own oil, which is sebum. It's not the lack of oiling your scalp that makes it dry, it is the lack of adequate moisture.
If these are your confessions, you are nowhere near being a terrible naturalista, as you put it.
I dont sleep with a satin hair bonnet or pillow.
ReplyDeleteI fast track my wash day routine by pre pooing and deep conditioning at night.
Detangle and shampoo in the morning. (Sharp sharp.)
Working on my hair myself is tedious. I have to get someone to do it for me. Else am in trouble.
Lol.
God help us all.
Okay, I think your satin bonnet own is the worst. Try a bit naa.
DeleteI have one confession. I don't wear a satin bonnet. Thank you. Good night *sad face*
ReplyDeleteLol. Good night o. And wear a satin bonnet before going to bed.
DeleteLol! AN, rusty bobby pins...really??? Why na? Lol!
ReplyDeleteYou make it sound so bad when you put it that way, lol. Okay, they are not rusty, just that part of the black coating has peeled off.
Deletei identify with #4 & 6. Never done a hot oil or protein treatment ke? no trim for 4 years? I Cannnn't, my hair use to be on an automatic trimming schedule every 3months.
