The 5R Hair Conference successfully concluded on December 10 and 11, 2021. Convened by Atilola Moronfolu, founder of African Naturalistas, the conference brought together leading hair care experts and enthusiasts for two days of comprehensive discussions, practical insights, and engaging activities.


Day 1 Highlights:


Inspiring Keynotes and Sessions:

Atilola Moronfolu opened the conference with an enlightening keynote speech and led a detailed “Hair Growth Planning Session for 2022,” providing attendees with actionable plans to enhance their hair growth journeys.


Dr. Kari Williams, a renowned Trichologist, presented on “Hair Loss Reversal: Edges, Middle, and Patches,” offering expert advice on reversing hair loss and promoting regrowth in affected areas.


Day 2 Highlights:


Expert-Led Discussions:

Ade Balogun of Locitude delivered an insightful session on “Locs: Starting it, Grooming it, Growing it,” covering the entire lifecycle of maintaining healthy locs. Dr. Anita Benson, a Dermatologist and Venereologist, discussed “Healthy Scalp: The Foundation for Hair Growth,” emphasizing the critical role of scalp health in overall hair vitality.


Thought-Provoking Debate:

The conference featured a dynamic debate between Tobi Asah of The Confident Naturalista and Dumebi Egbunam of GrowGrowingGrown on “Ayurveda vs. Western Cosmetics,” presenting differing perspectives on hair care methodologies.


Engaging Panel Discussion:

The panel, titled "From Damaged Hair Story to Crowning Glory," featured Janice Golec of FromAto4Z (Hair Influencer), Kemi Lewis of KL Naturals (Hair Stylist and Entrepreneur), and Chinwe Juliet of Igbo Curls (Hair Influencer). The panelists shared their personal journeys from damaged to healthy hair, providing inspiration and practical tips for attendees.


Interactive and Fun Activities:

The event, masterfully hosted by Olusola David-Elegbede of Mummymo Hair Care, included interactive games, quizzes, and Q&A segments. Attendees actively participated and won a variety of exciting gifts.


Recognition and Awards:

In recognition of their dedication, awards and certificates were presented to members of The Good Hair Tribe who had been exceptionally consistent throughout the year, celebrating their commitment to hair care and community support.
