Happy New Month.
This month is definitely going to be an exciting one for us all. Do not forget to subscribe on the blog so you don't miss any post.
So today's natural is a Nigerian blogger and Pharmacist.
Meet Francisca.
Can you tell us who you are
and what you do?
I an Omoja Francisca, a Pharmacist and Natural hair blogger.
What are your thoughts about
natural hair?
It's amazing really. At the stage I am now, I never knew I could grow my
hair this long.
When/why did you decide to go natural?
I decided to go natural late 2013. This was because I
wanted long healthy hair. My relaxed hair was always breaking, my hair had
changed colour and my edges...oh well, were receding especially at my temples.
Did
you do a BC or you transitioned?
I would say I sort of transitioned because at the time, I was trying to
stretch my relaxer appointment.
What
was the experience like?
During my supposed transitioning process was when I decided to go
natural. So I decided "no more of the creamy crack" I began to fix
weaves, braid ot twist my hair with extensions so as to manage my hair being
"due". It got to a point where I couldn't handle both textures on
my head so I cut the hair myself... yaaay! Best
decision ever
What
was/is your biggest fear about going Natural?
I don't think I have any. Scratch
that..I think it's retaining my length.
Do you have a regimen you
stick to? What is it like?
Haha....this one has stuck to my cerebral cortex..lol. I prepoo my hair
in twists the night before washday with my blend of carrier oils or Hair
trigger explosive and cover my hair with a shower cap. The following morning I
wash the prepoo off and apply my deep conditioner preferably the African
naturalistas deep conditioner mixed with my Aphogee 2 minute keratin
reconstructor (no time) and slap it onto my hair in twists as well. I cover
with my shower cap and wait for 45 minutes to 1 hour then wash off with my shampoo, then a
conditioner.
If I want to leave my hair in
twists or braids for the week, I make
sure to moisturize my scalp first with the African Naturalistas anti-dandruff
herbal spray. Then I moisturize the rest of my hair using the LOC method.
What
emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?
None whatsoever!
Do
you think you are in it for the long haul or is it just a phase?
Haha....this is gon' stick with me.
There
are people that definitely have negative comments about your
hair, how do you deal
with that?
Them plenty! I just tell them it's
my choice, my hair.
What's
your must have product and accessory?
Bobby pins and spray bottle.
What
is your go-to style?
Bun, bun all the way. sometimes, updos.
What
advice do you have for anyone just going natural?
Enjoy your hair! It's yours and no one else's
