Diary of an Honest Naturalista: Week 22

I received my call up letter towards the end of last week. The good news is that I was able to somehow work my posting to Lagos, so at least, there's hope to serve in a good place, and be close to Dimeji as usual. I honestly don't envy my friends who have to serve in the northern and eastern states. I am so not a fan of travelling.

The bad news is that my my 3-weeks orientation will take place in Osun state, since Lagos camp is too full, and I resume tomorrow. Three weekends without seeing Dimeji will be hell. This is the first time we are going to be apart since we started seeing each other.

In other news, I thought of what to do to my hair. I definitely couldn't leave it out or wear an afro for three weeks in  camp. And since I am still off extensions for now, I have decided that the best option will be to put it in corn rows. I am praying my hair would last for the whole duration. I know the style is not flamboyant enough, especially for NYSC camp, where many ladies are really going to be flashy and flamboyant. But who cares? I am not looking for any hook ups in camp.

My mum was on my case to take the hair serious for once in my life. In my mind, I was wondering what I have been doing for the past seven months. If there's anything I have taken most serious, it is my hair. Sometimes, I even overdo it. I just ignored her, and decided I will invest in loop earrings. They always look beautiful on corn rows. Check out the latest Alicia Keys in town, lol.

I will miss my former colleagues, my family (strangely), my church, but definitely not Thomas. I am sure my readers won't miss me, because I don't intend to take a break from my diary. If anything interesting happens in camp, I will be sure to report it here.

In the mean time, I need to keep packing. Osun State, The Land of Virtue, is calling for me.
