What to Do When You Hit a Length Plateau - Part 2

Hey Ladies

In my last post I shared that I had hit a length plateau due to over manipulation.
Part one of the action plan is to identify  the problem, which I did.

I'm now onto part two of the plan which is to to correct the length retardant behaviour. I promptly did that by getting Senegalese twists plaited this past weekend.

Now this will be my protective style for the next 5 to 6 weeks. During that time I will do  scalp massages with castor oil and essential oils to boost growth. Wash and deep condition weekly to keep it in good condition whilst it is hidden away.

Questions:
Why am I doing this so publicly?
For accountability, and I want all those of you who have slacked off to see the proactive steps being taken so you can be encouraged to get serious as well.

Will there be monthly updates?
I will do one post a month to share my latest protective style and how i'm sticking to my regimen.

Now I'm throwing the challenge back at you who've hit a length plateau too. Have you taken proactive steps to get back on the length retention train?

  2. I noticed that braids with extensions are not protective styles for me. I have even used 3 days to loosen a box braid I made so I can detangle carefully still I lost hair even after carrying it for just 3 weeks with plenty TLC.

    1. I hope you're not confusing the inevitable hair shedding with breakage?

    2. Aww extensions aren't for everyone. As long as you can manage to protect your hair in a way that works best for you.
