you tell us who you are and what you do?
I'm Ellena. I'm a student,actress and
natural hair stylist/makeup artist.
What are your
thoughts about natural hair?
I personally feel natural hair is
fascinating, you walk into a room and your hair gets the first attention.
When/why did
you decide to go natural?
My hair was breaking and I was tired
already
Did you do a BC or
you transitioned?
I transitioned for a year before I did
the big chop
What
was the experience like?
I had mixed feelings, cause I knew
absolutely nothing about natural hair, I hid my hair under a wig for a while.
What
was/is your biggest fear about going Natural?
I used to be scared that the
maintenance was going to be difficult, but I have no fear now *smiles*.
Do you have a regimen you stick to? What is it like?
I spritz daily, deep condition once a
week and do the hot oil treatment daily.
What
emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?
At first I had comments like nawa for
this your hair oo.but its funny how most of this people have gone natural and
frequently call for hair care tips and styling.
Do you think you are
in it for the long haul or is it just a phase?
A long haul of course
There are people that definitely have negative comments
about you hair, how do you deal with that?
I haven't had negative comments.
What's your must have
product and accessory?
Cantu leave in conditioner jamaican
castor oil coconut oil and my daily hair spritz.
What is your go-to
style?
Braid out.
What advice do you
have for anyone just going natural?
Embrace it girl,you've made a beautiful
decision.

Till then
I must say that even the calibre of men differ because of your natural hair. I have noticed when I speak to folk there is a lesser chance an area boy will approach you with natural hair lool. Our hair is regal!
