DIY LOUNGE - COCONUT OIL

Coconut oil has been used as hair oil for centuries and we all know it's review is beyond amazing. For some reasons we would rather leave to the scientist( because it's their job to know💁) it keeps the hair strong, nourished and prevents hair loss. The fact that it has a yummy smell is also a big plus.
However, coconut oil isn't limited to hair care, as it is rich in carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals which are good for the human body.

                   Things needed

 - coconuts
 - blender
 - sieve
 - an old frypan
 - water
 - bowl
 - container.

PREP TIME :           1 day
VALIDITY    :            6 months
AMOUNT SPENT :   320 Naira

               DIRECTIONS :::::
STEP 1
Break your coconuts and remove from the shell.

STEP 2
            Cut coconut into small pieces

STEP 3
Pour into a blender and add enough  water, so the blades can run through them easily.

STEP 4
Set your blender to high and let it blend, blend and blend some more.

STEP 5
Pour your content into a bowl and sieve

STEP 6
After sieving away the shaft, all you have is some milky substance, pour it in a bowl and cover overnight.

STEP 7
By morning, your creamy liquid would have some particles floating on top of it, use a spoon to collect these particles and then transfer the particles into the old frypan.

STEP 8
Set your frypan on a stove, set the heat to medium and stir fry till you begin to see oil.

STEP 9
Pour the oil into a container and close the lid tightly.

NOTE
The oil could look watery but never mind, that is what coconut oil looks like.
After squeezing out the cream, you can pour the shaft back into the blender, add some             water and blend a second time.
Putting the milk inside the freezer for about 30 minutes, makes it easy to collect the particles.

So,if you need to buy lipstick or your powder is almost finished and also  in need of some coconut oil! Save some extra cash, DIY😉👍

    1. Yes o. You basically have to crush loads and loads of coconut (about 50) and use loads and load of gas to get a 250ml bottle. Who has time for that? It is not financially sound at all, but at least the knowledge is worth gaining.

And thank God we have made it easy. We sell coconut oil on our store here. africanaturalistas.com/ourstore
