'Natural hair is beautiful' Mane Matters with Linda

Hi Natural Beauties,
Hope you are doing great as always?  Today, I bring to you a Naturalista who is great at styling her Natural hair. Meet Linda
Can you tell us who you are and what you do?
My name is Osuntade “Lily” Linda,  a 500 level medical Student, living  in Ogun State Nigeria.

What are your thoughts about natural hair?
Natural hair to me is something so beautiful that has been hidden from its rightful owners for too long. As young girls, we don’t get the opportunity to explore our natural hair before it’s relaxed. The Natural hair movement is not just a trend, it’s a revolution.

What are your reasons for going natural?
Hmm… My reasons for going natural… It just felt wrong not being natural, As soon as I found out it was a possibility, I jumped in… even with weaves I  constantly think  “ but this hair isn’t mine, why am I sewing this on my head?” being natural is like home…

When/why did you decide to go natural?
February 2014

Did you do a BC or you transitioned?
BC

What was the experience like?
Exciting and scary
What was/is your biggest fear about going Natural?
My biggest fear used to be peoples comments or reactions but at the stage I am right now I couldn’t care less.

Do you have a regimen you stick to? What is it like?
I co-wash my hair about once a week, before co washing I pre poo with that same conditioner for about an hour (right now I love Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner).
Then I moisturize using the LOC method (Cantu Shea Butter Leave in Conditioning Cream as my CREAM and not my LIQUID as is popularly done). As needed I deep condition, do protein treatment, ACV rinse etc…

What emotional struggles, if any, have you faced since going natural?
Negative comments about my hair

Do you think you are in it for the long haul or is it just a phase?
LONG HAUL!!!!

There are people that definitely have negative comments about you hair, how do you deal with that?
By trying to ignore them

What's your must have product and accessory?
Products for LOC, Ouchless band

What is your go-to style?
Le Puff
What advice do you have for anyone just going natural?
Be patient, you have a lot to learn because you haven’t been natural (probably) since you were a child
