"I won't lie, negative comments gets to me." Mane matters with Linda Osuntade

Hello Naturalistas,

Welcome the lovely Linda :) Enjoy her interview.

AN: Can you tell us who you are and what you do?
My name is Osuntade Linda, I'm a medical student.

AN: What's your thoughts about natural hair?

Natural hair to me is like having something beautiful which I hid away for a very long time. I dunno like having beautiful roses (with the thorns) but opting to flaunt plastic flowers instead cos they're " easier to maintain". I dunno if I'm making sense or if I even answered the question lol...

AN: Why did you decide to go natural?
I went natural because I didn't like my relaxed hair. It was lifeless, scanty, breaking, you name it... I wanted thick rich natural hair. I did a lot of research and went for it.

AN: Did you do a BC or you transitioned?
I tried to transition but it didnt last (about 2 months), then I BCd

AN: Any fears about the BC?
I had no fears about BCing
The BC. Now we know your IG ID!

AN: What has your experience been?
Its been great. I love my hair so much and treat it like a baby. I keep researching and researching, buying products, mixing concoctions lol.

AN: What was/is your biggest fear about going Natural?
My biggest fear is the discrimination. I love my hair but people always have something negative to say about it. I mostly hear. What is this? when will you make your hair? this is not a good hairstyle for a doctor... yada yada yada.
Updo with TWA

AN: Do you think you are in it for the long haul or is it just a phase?
I am in for the Long haul.

AN: Do you have any hair regimen you stick to?

I'm still learning about regimens but I'm into the LOC method in everything I do with my hair. I try to co wash every week, wash when I feel my hair is dirty or there's build up, I always wear my satin bonnet.
First Bantu knot out

AN: Whats your go-to protective style?
weaves, braids.

AN:There are people that definitely have negative comments about you hair, how do you deal with that?
First wash and go

I won't lie their comments get to me. but the love of my hair is so strong that it overrules every negative comment. I mean how can't they see such beauty?

AN: What's your must have product and accessory?
obia curl enhancing custard, Bobbi pins

AN: What's your advice to anyone planning to ditch relaxers?
if you're ready, do it but if you're not, take your time, do your research and go for it.

Now, I have a follower ;)

  2. I have grown thick skin to bad comments. I just laugh in my heart and smile out so the 'commenter' can see. The smile makes them suicidal and i am loving it.
